IVD - Ironhide Vacuum Distillation System

Ironhide Vacuum Distillation System The Ironhide Vacuum Distillation System (IVD) is used to dehydrate, degasify, and purify industrial fluids of all types. The IVD uses vacuum, heat, and particulate filtration to purify fluids by removing solid particulates via a barrier filter, removing 100% of dissolved, entrained, emusfiled water down to 10 wppm or less, and entrained gases.

IPV - Ironhide Particulate Vessel

Ironhide Particulate VesselThe Ironhide Particulate Vessel (IPV) is designed and crafted to pass fluid through a high grade element at full flow to remove numerous contaminants from many types of fluids. Ironhide Manufacturing, Inc. is looked upon as the quality manufacturer of purification equipment, in the areas of design and craftsmanship as well as operating efficiency. All IPV vessels are built to ASME code standards and hydrostatically tested and inspected before shipment.

Custom Tank Manufacturing

Custom Tank ManufacturingmAt Ironhide Manufacturing, Inc. we pride ourselves on producing quality vessels for the array of products we manufacture. Our ASME accredited welding shop can be contracted to construct vessels designed and engineered by our clients. Our quality procedures and shop work flow are designed to be flexible and allow for designs that are unique. If you are looking for an ASME shop that is large enough to produce your vessels and small enough to meet your deadlines contact Ironhide Manufacturing, Inc. and inquire about our contract manufacturing solutions.

Separator Element

The Separator Element is employed as the second stage in the coalescer/separator (ICS) vessels. Their sole function is to repel coalesced water drops produced by the coalescer element while allowing filtered fluids to pass through. The separator is replaced at the same time as the coalescer element.

Coalescer Element

The Coalescer Element provides a cost effective particle and emulsified water removal element for hydrocarbon fluids. The Coalescer elements are employed as the first stage in coalescer/separator (ICS) vessels. The Coalescer perform two functions, first they coalesce or combine highly dispersed, emulsified water particles into larger water drops and secondly they filter-out particulate contaminants.

Stainless Strainer Element

The Stainless Strainer Element is designed to be reusable  by backwashing the  element. It is constructed completely of corrosion-resistant stainless steel and designed for high-flow capacity. Can be built of either 304 or 316 stainles steel.

Particulate Element

The Particulate Element is designed with pleats allowing for extended surface area which translates into longer life and more solid collecting.

Fuller’s Earth Media

Fuller’s Earth Media Fuller’s Earth is designed to adsorb acids and remove color for the purification of many industrial oils and waste streams.

WP - Principles of Operation of an IVD System

Water, dissolved hydrocarbons, and solids most commonly contaminate industrial oils. Water in oil can exist in the form of free water, emulsified water and dissolved water. Dissolved hydrocarbons can enter the oil via leaking compressor seals, while solids can consist of rust particles suspended in the oil.
Dissolved gases can cause the following undesirable effects in lubrication oil:

  • Lowering of flash point, causing an explosion hazard
  • Lowering of the viscosity, which lowers the lubricating capacity
  • Increased rates of corrosion

WP - Diesel Fuel Contaminants

Maintaining fuel cleanliness is a priority when companies require the reliability of both stationary and large mobile equipment. Excessive water and solid containments can reduce the lubrication properties of the fuel, which may cause injector seizure and catastrophic engine failures.
